Who We Are...

Women Safe House Sustenance Initiative is a non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting and rehabilitating women and girls from all forms of Gender Based Violence in Nigeria.We provide shelter and comprehensive services to women and girls of all ages who are survivors of violence. Since 2016, we have created safe spaces for several women and girls to thrive.

NIGHTS OF SHELTER PROVIDED

We have been able to provide 1,005 nights of emergency and safety shelter to women and girls facing gender based violence.

HOURS OF ADVOCACY 

We have been able to provide 650 women and girls with 505 hours of gender based violence advocacy.

We have been able to provide skill trainings and startup businesses for 303 women survivors of violence

We have been responsive to crisis calls of violence against women and girls with 350 calls answered on our 24 hour crisis hotline.

Programs

Women Safe House Sustenance Initiative offers free comprehensive crisis services for survivors of gender based violence. We serve women and girls from Nigeria . Participation in our programs are free and confidential.

 

LEGAL SERVICES(LITIGATION) PROGRAM

We understand that navigating through the legal system can be expensive, difficult and confusing. Women Safe House provides legal services to women and girls experiencing gender based violence, stalking, human or sex trafficking in Nigeria.

 

 

SHELTER (SAFE HOUSE) SERVICES

Women Safe House offers emergency shelter at an undisclosed location for women and girls fleeing all gender based violence, rape, domestic violence and female genital mutilation. The emergency shelter offers a trauma-informed supportive environment focused on healing. Survivors can access care coordination, counseling, healthcare and safety. planning.

HEALTHCARE SERVICES

We understand that several women and girls in Nigeria do not have access to health care after experiencing violence. We provide immediate healthcare services to victims of violence to quick recovery from physical bruises and mental health stability.

COUNSELLING PROGRAM

We believe that counselling can be instrumental in helping a survivor overcome the trauma experienced in an abusive relationship or violence faced to move forward. Counselling is available for survivors of all forms of gender based violence, sexual assault, stalking or domestic abuse, whether it occurred recently or in the past.  Sessions are offered to women and girls as individuals or as a group.

 

COMMUNITY AND RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS EDUCATION & TRAINING

We believe that knowledge is key and that together with an informed community we can eliminate gender based violence against women and girls. We strive to engage, educate and inspire community leaders and members to join us in this belief. We offer a range of free trainings, campaigns, presentations and workshops to spread awareness about gender based violence against women and girls.

SKILL TRAINING AND BUSINESS STARTUPS

We understand that several women and girls facing gender based violence are economically disadvantaged. We provide skill training and fund business startups for survivors of violence to ensure financial independence.
